Description:
* Rhizomatous perennial. Leaves with a false petiole of up to 1 m long, conspicuous sagittate, erect, with slating venation and cross-nerves.
* Panicle tough.
* Spikelets 1-flowered, falling entire, apparently bisexual. Glumes as long as floret, prominently nerved. Lemma 3-nerved.
Genus with one species of the swamps of South Sudan and Uganda.
