Description:
* Perennial of 15-30 cm high. Culms weak, decumbent rooting from lower nodes; nodes with hairs. Leaves 2-8 cm long and 2-4 mm wide, acute, margins tuberculate-ciliate; ligule a truncate eciliate membrane of 0.5-0.8 mm long.
* Inflorescence an open, lanceolate panicle of 2-6 cm long and 1 cm wide. Spikelets at the tip of the branches.
* Spikelets elliptic, glabrous or puberulous, 1.7-2 mm long and 1 mm wide. Glumes both absent or obscure. Fertile lemma chartaceous, keeled and 5 -veined; midvein scaberulous, margins involute, acute. Anthers 3.
